We
have key features in our location at West Park.
Centrally
located two miles north of Braco village which lies near
the junction of the A9 and A822 at southern end of Perthshire
Tourist Route, gives us road access in all directions allowing
day travel to most of Scotland's key visitor attractions.
For the active, golf, fishing, sailing, walking, cycling,
horse riding, off-road driving, falconry, health club facilities,
and an extensive range of eating-out venues to match every
taste and budget are all within easy reach.
Elevated at 600 feet, affords perfect rural peace,
quiet and privacy with outstanding views to east, west and
south over the Allan valley to the Ochil hills. Close to the
heather-line, with woodland nearby, ensures an abundance of
wildlife; red and roe deer, red and grey squirrels, foxes,
rabbits, brown hares, hedgehogs, stoats and weasels can often
be seen at work and play. Buzzards, kestrels, owls, lapwings,
pheasants, grouse, partridge, oyster catchers, geese, curlews
and a host of smaller garden birds, bringing the spring and
summer countryside to life with their morning chorus, make
an early morning walk a 'not to be missed' experience. When
the birds are quiet, you really can hear the silence broken
occasionally only by the sound of cattle munching grass over
100yards away.
Historic
Scotland is on our doorstep. The driveway is accessed
off an old military road built to link Stirling and Fort Augustas,
typically straight, by General Wade, circa 1724. The extensive
Ardoch Roman Fort and surrounding camps are in fields between
West Park and Braco. The Battle of Sheriffmuir site lying
beyond towards Dunblane, Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle
and Bannockburn a few miles further on, and a host of castles
throughout Perthshire, combine to give visitors easy access
to much of historic Scotland, and, on a clear day, the locations
mapped out before them from the breakfast table.
Rail stations at Gleneagles, Dunblane and Stirling
allow regular traffic-free access to central Edinburgh and
Glasgow, essential if the visitor is to fully appreciate these
great cities.
International links are simple and direct with Edinburgh
and Glasgow Airports, and Zeebrugge-Rosyth Ferry Terminal
all within one hours drive. Car hire facilities are available
at all terminals.
